Not sure if current sensus will be updated or whether it's a brand new infotainment system.

Volvo should just allow full screen on Android auto and Google just focus a bit more on developing good apps for Android auto and that's enough. No need partnership and crab...

Next gen suggests it won’t be an upgrade - just newer infotainment systems in future models.

The article suggests the new infotainment system will be ready in a couple of years. Hopefully just in time for my next car

Which will be a hybrid or all-electric.

I do hope that they will be selling diesel hybrids as well as petrol ones.

Possibly but don’t bet any money on it. What they don’t tell you is that the cars emit more CO2 than petrol in real world daily driving. Read an article on the subject recently.
