Yeah, I saw that one in LIV too! I really can't believe that anybody could still be alive after a major like that. Volvo made the ultimate sacrifice - Volvo for Life.

If my memory serves me right, Volvo have an internal test centre - which allows them to fire cars at each other at different angles and speed and see whether they can dent each other!!!!
I am sure there was a television article on it once. |

My mother crashed one of our T5's into an Astra when pulling out onto a road (he was going about +20mph over the limit and it's a blind bend....) and T-boned him.
He needed the following:- New alloy wheel New tyre New wing New door New mirror New bumper New foglight New headlight/indicator lights New suspension components on the front Bonnet realigned and beaten Our T5 needed nothing bar a touch up pen from Volvo to touch in one very minor scratch about 2" long on the upper front bumper.

At my last job we had a 172,000 mile 760 3ltr Estate, the company 'hack'. We loaded a 1/2ton steel injection mould tool into the back with a forklift then drove from Dundee to East Kilbride. Unloaded tool with another forklift, did work to tool, reloaded it into Volvo. Return trip to Dundee with Volvo and tool that evening. All at motorway speeds (...foolhardy).
Managed to come off a wet road at a corner due to excessive speed with my first Volvo, a 1.7 340GL (pride and joy). Ploughed through fence and drystone wall and down into field. Volvo landed on its side, taking fence and stonework with it. Car sadly damaged beyond repair, but no injuries and door opened perfectly to allow me to get out. Volvos are hard as nails! |

....the S60 i had me and my kids we survived a 70mph crash on the way to Glasgow were a idiot of a lorry driver cut me up and i lost control..my car ended up rolling over twice before landing on its roof down a very deep gully...when our heads stopped spinning my 7 yr old son says "wow that was awesome"...i laughed despite the fact i needed a change of underwear...once we helped out of our car by other very shocked motorist i saw the severity of out situation the car was finished,no panel had been untouched yet the passenger area was solid none of my 3 kids or my wife had a single bruise...its then i decided Volvo for life...got another S60..hopefully the new shape S80 next year...
