Default how many phones?

how many phones can be connected at the same time (2022 V60CC with Sensus)?.... seemingly only one...in my previous car (a Mercedes GLB) if a call came in on mine or the wifes phone it would be displayed and managed on the car display irrespective of whether that was the "active" phone, seems so far that only the phone that is connected will manage calls.

I am aware that I can switch phones but that's hardly practical whilst driving if the other phone is ringing

Only one phone at a time can be linked to receive/make calls. I have yet to sit in a car which can have more than one phone linked via bt at the same time. Honestly, I’m struggling to see the point - unless a driver carries multiple phones and wants to be using them at the same time..

thanks...
the reason being that if myself and my wife are in the car, whilst mine might be in the middle my wifes will be in her handbag in the back of the car so not reachable if a call came in

like I said, Mercedes will "link" one phone for active use but if a call came in on the other phone it would automatically connect to it

My Skoda Octavia could manage two phones on Bluetooth, useful to me as i carry both a work and personal phone. I missed that when the V60 arrived.

I use two sims in one phone, it copes with that but the display gets confused as it shows whichever sim is being used for data not which network the primary telephone signal is on.

I had an Audi that could take two. There’s every point as I have a work phone and a personal one. If either my work or my family need to call me, neither are disappointed. Similarly, if my partner is in the car, her phone could receive a call through the car speaker, and so could mine. Easy concept.

I have not tried 2 phones for calls etc. However late last year I was on a motorway when a major problem ahead developed. This was fully indicated by the on screen Google maps with suggested alternative routes. In these situations with virtually stationary traffic I have in the past also consulted Waze as you often get other alternative routes.
In this case I asked my Mrs to open Waze on her phone and it did suggest an alternative route so started route guidance on her phone on the basis that both Google and Waze required the same turn off and we would assess the situation when we got there.
However to the point we were surprised that the Waze guidance came over the Volvo speakers. Her phone is not paired with the car but mine is paired with the car and her phone?

Whenever I watch Police Interceptors or Traffic Cops or similar, they pull people over and always have the line of "Oh they have 2 phones so must be a drug dealer!"

I am not a drug dealer, but not only have 2 phones, but have them both in a cradle in the car. Hopefully I won't get pulled and body cavity searched!

Every day is a learning day, did not know it was possible to have two phones connected on any car at the same time, have a friend with a VW and he had told me this before but I thought he was making it up or confused.
