Default Flat battery.

Hi guys,

Battery has gone flat due to lack of use over the past few months and I have a c-tech battery charger.

Do I need to disconnect the battery to charge it or can I leave it connected?

Cheers

Leave it connected. I put the earth onto a bolt in the inner wing

Mines sitting in the garage connected up just now

Thanks.

Well, as it turns out it started first push of the button! To be fair, the battery is around 6 months old and I leave the car unlocked so I guess there isn’t any load on the battery once everything has gone to sleep and shut down.

There should be a small drain when all locked up and gone to sleep . Less than 50 ma. around 10 to 15 ma usually so insignificant

You’re best leaving it connected, if the battery has been flat for a while I would use the recond program first and then a normal charge after a day or so.

Never use the negative battery terminal to connect a charge or booster cable, follow what Gris said.
