my new project
now then everyone, not sure if this is in the right place. ive just recently got the keys to my late grandads volvo 240. its been sat in the garage for 13 years. so tonight i dipped the oil, checked the water, hung a new battery on. The old girl fired up!!!! its completely solid apart from where the spare wheel sits on the n/s where its rotted through. i cant wait to get it on the road again!

You've got yourself a nice project car car there mate, and its a similar colour to another well known marque on these forums, if you do a search for "thor" you will find lots of very useful info, enjoy your car and the forums.

Wow, that looks excellent!
Have you seen Steve's 244 thread yet? He also inherited the car from his grandad and he's done loads of work on it now. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=46997 He also lives in Yorkshire (as I do). Can you make it to the Northern BKV (Best Kept Volvo) meeting on 1st August at Wetherby racecourse? Not too far for you, and it would be a good chance to meet up with some like-minded folk, look at nice Volvos and buy parts if you need any. Can you post up some more photos - interior, engine etc. Also if you photograph the spare wheel well, I can advise what needs doing - I have been doing all that stuff on my 164 project. What are your plans for the car? Cheers - and a warm welcome to the forum by the way! John |

It's a nice car you've got there. Lovely colour too. Would love a 85 glt estate in that colour.
