Default Engine type query

Hello all... I'm a forum member but I'm normally more active on the P2 based cars. I considering a V50 project car I have been offered, I've done a quick search but can't seem to find an answer.

The car has a engine knocking problem and is dumping un-burned fuel into the exhaust. Its a 2010 2.0 D and is badged 2.0D but is the facelift model with new style rear lights and indicators in the wing mirror. I may be looking for injectors, or possibly an engine.

Question is was the 2.0D the same engine from '04 to '12 ? This car was registered Jan 2010. From some reading I have done it seems as though the engine was changed/updated around 2010.

Any suggestion would be appreciated...

Richard

The 2.0D Ford/PSA 4 cylinder engine was used from 2004 to 2010 model year cars.
The engine was then replaced later in 2010 by Volvo's own 5 cylinder two litre D3 and D4 engines.

Thanks SteV50, that's good news then as it definitely has a 4-pot unit, spares should be a doddle.

Until I come to drive it that is and I miss the last cylinder!
