Full boost on stock turbo should be before 3k. You have a problem somewhere.

Hi mate. Could be a lot of things really. Start with the most simple thing and check for boost leaks. Remove your hoses and inspect them thoroughly.

Yeah all boost associated pipework. Turbo to IC, IC to throttle body and all vacuum lines that connect to the throttle body.

You may also have to wait until the ECU has learned your new ways!!!.....98ron

When using 95ron the ignition timing is knocked back to prevent damage which also makes your performance suffer including mpg.

I have had many turbo cars and have never noticed changing fuel to effect boost onset. Let alone by 2000rpm LOL

My old T4 had the bcs and I used to put super in but only if I could afford it. If I was skint Id fill it with 95. Never noticed a difference. Although obviously the 98 is a better quality fuel for prevention of knock and carbon build up etc. It will not have that dramatic effect on boost unless the ecu senses knock. Which is very unlikely unless running high boost.

When i bought my `98 T4 it was run on 98ron all the time.

I decided as i was learning about these motors to use 95 ron i did not notice any difference until after a couple of days then the performance was not up to scratch.

I reverted back to 98ron and it recovered again after a few cold starts.

The EMS 2000 system is very clever and it adapts and also learns how the owner drives.

95ron will always knock back the ignition timing as anyone with a T4 will use full boost at some time as that is why they have one. The ECU is designed to do this for engine safety and takes away the safety factor from the owner who cannot put the correct fuel in the tank.
