If you read the manual, page 125 onwards then all is explained there.

It appears as if you only have a gear change indicator?

Why not call your dealer if you need further clarification?

Yes you are supposed to have an arrow which appears when it is the best economical point to change gear upwards . It does NOT show which gear you are in as per Geratronic operation on the auto gearbox ...
This economy arrow is nothing new , the 300 series had it 26 years ago !

All you need is the arrow, as you should know what gear you are in if it is a manual gearbox!!

My wife's V50 DRIVe has the arrow and the system works fine.

I don't think mine shows either the gear selected or the change up arrow?

Really, the V50 also has a down arrow key if you are in too high a gear.

It is - I have a D3 DrivE manual and there is definitely no arrow appear anywhere to indicate gear changes up or down, nor can I see anything in the manual referring to this? Is this a function which can be switched on / off in the menu somewhere?

Does your manual differ from the 2012 version that I attached above?
