City safety on the manual + sat nav Q
Can someone explain what happens when city safety engages on the manual version? Does the engine shudder to a stop? I've been wondering since I owned the car....
Also, can someone tell me where in the menu you suspend (clear) the guidance. I can find pause, but not switch it off. If it's paused I get an annoying message every morning which stops my rear camera displaying. Thanks! |

With City safety the clutch cant disengage itself so yes i would say the engine would stall , no compromises to save a life ... It would be a good experience to try and demonstrate what happens , your dealer should have a plastic doll you can drive at ....
With the RTI cant you press the BACK button a few times to the main menu then shut down?

Mine has activated a few times when I have been going under a barrier (not waiting long enough for it to raise fully!).Thought it was pretty clever it recognised a thin horizontal pole!Foot was on the clutch so it didnt stall as I was slowly setting off. if it activates the car would stall if your foot is not on the clutch. You have a shock when it activates as its like an emergency stop!

The system will ask you to confirm "Yes" or "No". Job done.

I thus pressume your annoying message refered to is the initiat confirmation to "Accept" the terms etc with a "Yes" which initially comes on when starting up..............This will auto accept after a short time period, but like you say it will stop the camera. The way I get over this with my rear view camera as I reverse out in the morning is to have the "Radio" as my normal Senus display option.

If you want to cancel the current guidance instructions because, say, you are now close enough to home, on the steering wheel controls press: back, down, right, enter, left and enter again in that order (this will make sense, assuming I've remembered the sequence correctly, when you are in the car and can see what's happening). Then just press back until you get the normal map display. Simples. . .
