I found that they wer uninterested in doing a deal and bought elsewhere.

No problems with their service department however.
Must be down to the salesperson I guess. Martin Leach was very helpful, not at all condescending (unlike some), and very eager to do a deal.

They take the approach that they have to sell you not just your current Volvo but the next & the next ....for life.
Even the dealer principle took an interest in my purchase which reflects the fact they are a family run Shropshire based company with several franchises in Shrewsbry & Telford.

Sounds good. Shame it's a bit far from Bristol

I went to the shewsbury branch ( their only one then i think ) for a volvo 66 training course in 1976 , well established dealers do seem to give the best service overall . The kind of place where every employee has a volvo unlike the newly established dealers . That says a lot .

Would that be because the staff can't afford a Volvo on the 12% margin that they are reputed to make

You dont have to spend £20000 + to own a volvo , beautiful examples can be got for less than £2000 . Less than the cost of cars they already own, its just the principle of believing in the cars which pay your wages ! If you do this you give a better service .
