I thought I'll update you all on the status.
I was offered a newer better car / lower millage car - it was better than the one that I original purchased which now had to go to court as the finance couldnt be cleared. - it is was unable to be sold. I run a check on the new car that they offered and it had stocking finance on it. I was assured by the General Manager that it would be cleared before I picked it up. I paid and waiting for them to prep the car. I received a new invoice for the new car. On collection I was advised that the finance had not cleared but didnt complete handover as I was expecting it to clear at some point. - I was informed that it is normal for stocking finance to be cleared however it could take up to 30 days. The problem its been 45 days and its still not cleared. I really wanted the car and waited, and waited, however last week Monday - Both me and the dealership agreed to go down the route of a full refund and I was advise it would take 3 to 5 working days. Its now been 8 working days and the funds have not came through. I really don't know what to do but wait. We are taking about a large sum of money which I need to use to by a replacement car. I made the recent payment by credit card for the new car- but the rest was bank money transfer done over a year ago for the original car. What rights do I have? And do you think I will be able to get my money back?

Time to take this to Citizens Advice Bureau, a £1000 is a small figure to these companies and they’ve held your money for long enough. You have the patience of a Saint and then some. This has gone on for long enough. The CAV will be more than happy to help and they luuurrrvvvvv stuff like this. A simple letter threatening legal action should do it.
Do yourself a favour and find a better garage to deal with, this shouldn’t happen when dealing with modern main agents. Good luck.

The dealership has gone into administration - everything is lost. Debt collectors collected all the cars - and many angry customers. Business is closed....
