XC40 B4 R-Design Engine Pedigree?

I'm just wondering, out of interest, if anyone knows what is the pedigree/ancestry of the four-pot 2 litre engine in my 2021 XC40 B4 R-Design? The engine is designated B420T6, rated at 197bhp.

I'm assuming this engine doesn't originate from within Volvo, but is from some mega-group engine manufacturer. Any information on this will be appreciated.

From around 2013 Volvo began introducing the VEA engine into their model range. This engine was designed and built by Volvo at their Skövde Plant in Sweden, it now powers all the ICE cars in various guises.

He means that the engine concerned is a Volvo engine.

Thanks, Guys. I had just assumed it was something else, maybe far-eastern, but designed and built by Volvo in Sweden suits me! Thanks again for the info.
