Default Car sluggish (D5 manual)

I don't have any other D5 to reference to but it feels slow for it'd 215bhp/not gutsy I.e. i have to kick down a gear often to avoid labouring the engine. I bought it with ultra low for the year mileage 40k/2014. I've popped a dpf cleaner in the tank and driven it with gusto.

What else can I do?

Before you sell what should be a really nice car, have you run a diagnostic on the car to see if the ECUs are holding logged faults? I believe that cheshired5 sells reliable VIDA/DiCE units which is something that every DIY Volvo owner should have.

Once you've sorted the reason for the sluggish behaviour, if you like oomph, consider the Polestar optimisation if you can get a deal from a Volvo dealer. I haver it fitted and it transformed the car from a good performer to a great one!

Good call by Tatsfield, My 185 ‘08 XC had a load of stored codes which I cleared with a machine bought from & with help from Cheshired5. Already noticed an improvement but the next part of the procedure was to drive it like I stole it (apparently the car learns new drivers) and it transformed her performance.

That will be the twin turbo engine, it should perform really well. Mine is a D5 / 205 and has great performance (with the 6 speed manual mind).

It's been said - get it plugged in to proper Volvo gear. It might just save you a world of pain and expense.

Sounds like it needs a full Volvo diagnostic, it should have bags of torque.

I'll look into a reader.

I'll also check all pipes for splits etc.

Unplug the battery for 20mins to help it relearn a new driver?

Could a MAF clean help?
