Default V60 d5 awd

HI, I'm looking at a 2012 V60 D5 AWD Auto with 90k on the clock. I'm not familiar with this model and would greatly welcome any feedback from current or past owners. Also be very interested in any common faults, particularly expensive ones. I'm short on time at the moment and don't have chance to do as much homework as i would like so would be very interested in anything that anyone feels relevant.

Many thanks in advance.

Check the autobox changes smoothly. Let the car get warm and slip into neutral for a couple of minutes then back into D - any clunks / jumps forward indicate problems.

Also it's due a cambelt at 108k or 10 years old so that is something that may need doing soon. Aux belts need changing at 54k miles regardless of age I believe

Yes, make sure it’s flawless. I have a D4 Cross Country. I would recommend get the box serviced if you do buy one. I’ve had mine done at 53k and it’s made a big difference to it. They’re a stable Autobox, the weak point is the valve body.
As got the rest of the motor, make sure it all works, no smoking etc etc. If there’s any vibration while going along it could be the AWD unit, expensive repair.... just walk away. Make sure all the electronics work, any suspension knocks and unusual tyre wear.
The V60 is a good motor, enjoy.

^^^^^ That

Should be okay at 90k, but get the fluid changed and the software updated if you buy it.

As you live in Hull - Voltech motors on Anlaby Road can do that for circa £270.

Yes it's the TF80SC, fitted to all Volvo's of that year except those with 4-cylinder Ford engines.

Do they do a proper oil change?

Thanks for the great advice, I've done it several times myself on my XC90 so am familiar with the gearbox and the flush procedure. I even fitted an additional oil cooler to the XC90 for heavy towing which i do regularly. Made a massive difference.
