This might have been true some years ago. There's lots of wealthy people in Poland these days, so I don't understand why any brand would limit spec options. I guess there will be differences in trim level and equipment packages content, but if you want full spec car, you should be able to get one

By the way...
I have some friends from Poland. Basically everyone there drives +20kph above the speed limit Fine for driving 200+ kph on highway (or basically anywhere +50kph above the limit) is like 100 euros

(2) Medical bills. Although we had medical aid, it didnt cover all medical expenses. I had a minor stroke and needed a CT scan, that cost me R11,000 or over £500, a visit to the doctor was over R500 or £23, medication cost me over R2000 or over £95 a month, a two week stay in hospital with pneumonia cost me over £1000. All of those costs are after medical aid paid their bit. The above costs may not sound much, but that was a huge lump out of my UK pension. Now I'm back in UK all of my medication is free as is medical treatment.

I paid my dues and served in the military for 20 years before moving to South Africa, I am not a scrounger unlike those crossing the English Channel who have paid nothing into or did anything for this country.

There are problems within this country, but there is nowhere I'd rather be. All we need now are politicians to do what they promised and get rid of idiots like the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan

The grass is not always greener on the other side.
Welcome back and i couldn`t agree more with your comments on the Mayor of London

From my experience, it's the opposite! If you play about with the Polish Volvo configurator you can pretty much build your ideal XC60, even down to a parking heater. What I will say though is that many items that are standard here are optional extras in Poland.

Glad to see that you have returned to the centre of the universe (I am a Chesterfield lad - well Bolsover to be precise - although I dont live there now).

I agree you have done your bit having worked for the military, and that is a question rather than a dig, but I presume when you were non resident then you didnt pay UK taxes? I presume though that you kept UK citizenship so that you could come back though?

Welcome back to the UK, its likely to be a bit if a bumpy ride for a couple of years post Brexit but sure it will be fine in the end.....Given I am heading to retirement I am hoping its sooner or later as I could do with my pension pot not being decimated....

As my pension was under the taxable limit I didnt pay any tax. I'd never would have given up my UK citizenship, or my British passport.

Quite a few whites in South Africa trying to move to UK, partly because of affirmative action, people are put into jobs they do not have the ability to do, jobs that are based on skin colour and not on merit. When these people stuff up they blame it on apartheid, they refuse to take responsibility for their own actions.

I'm all for Brexit, Brussels should never be able to pass laws that we have o comply with, thereby losing our sovereignty to a bunch of eurocrats not voted for by the British. I definitely believe Britain will be far better off in the long run.

Where are you living now?

I have B5P XC60 but only done 650 miles so far. Seems to be averaging 27mpg and nice and quiet. Had MY17 XC90 D5 powerpulse before that. Better mpg approx 33 average, but very unrefined engine.

Update, my wife has now decided that she will try to use her XC60! On one level I'm actually quite relieved as it means that we won't be lumbered with the expenditure of replacing her car.

I have tested the D4 and T5 and I was not impressed with the performance of the T5.
Not sure how that stands with the B4 and B5 variants but I believe that the B variants may improve the smoothness feeling that I think lacks within the T5 engine.

My T5 is very smooth and much quieter than my previous diesel.
