Default Intermittent parking sensor error.

2006 model.

I get park assist service message when the weather is cold and/or wet.

If the weather warms up, then the message is not shown and all but one sensor (N/S middle) works.

I assume its a case of replacing the faulty sensor?

Do they need to be replaced as all at the same time or can one be replaced on its own?

With genuine Volvo parts you can replace just one sensor

If you use after market you must replace all the sensors at the same time. The problem may be the wiring loom. I had similar problems a while ago. Replacing a couple of sensors worked for a while, but the proper fix was to replace the loom and sensors.

If it only happens when its cold or wet you may have water ingress to the loom that the sensors are connected to ... it been subject to recalls for many years, but I dont know what the current status is ... I'd guess you have maybe missed it due to age. However the parts are available from Volvo so you need to check what is actually causing the issue .... a sensor or a water damaged wiring loom.

Some toughts
