Default 2015 XC60 Illuminated Window Switches

During the winter I noticed that 2 of the window switches on the drivers side (front & rear RHS) were not illuminated at night. I'm pretty sure all of the switches used to be illuminated so when the car went in for it's annual service this week I asked the dealer to check them.
They told me that they were working correctly and that those 2 switches were not supposed to be illuminated.
I would be really grateful if any members with similar cars could confirm whether or not all their switches are illuminated?
Many thanks.

Mine is a my2012, all 4 window switches on drivers door are illuminated at night. I did have a session last year when they all went out for about a month, but they came back on again without me doing anything.
I can’t see volvo taking a backward step and illuminating only near side, what would be the point of that. I think the garage is pulling your cords.

Mine all illuminate. A few ago I had a problem with an underdash screenwash leak that affected the CANBus, one of the more mild symptoms was those lights sometimes going off.

After not getting much joy with my local dealer (Stoneacre - Stockton) I contacted Ray Chapman Volvo in York who have been a delight to deal with. They were able to quickly diagnose the fault, check that it was indeed covered by the extended warranty, and undertook the repair with great efficiency. The staff in the dealership were friendly and polite and it was an overall pleasant experience. I shall be using them in future following less than satisfactory dealings with my local dealers (Knaresborough & Stockton which were both previously part of the Mill group but now part of Stonacre).

Curious regarding warranty as I take out the annual renewal on my 2015 XC60 direct with "volvo" (I believe it is actually operated by car care) and would be good to know if yours is the same type and that it will indeed behave as if it was the "original" warranty

Yes it is direct with Volvo. Having had my XC60 from new and suffered with various problems I have always extended the warranty directly with Volvo each year and up until now it has certainly paid for itself and given me some piece of mind. My understanding is that it behaves just like the original warranty that came with the new car.

Did they tell you what the problem was, or on the invoice? Have the same problem but way out of warranty. I believe at one pointn we were told ot was the driver's door module of some sort and ££ to repair.

Have exactly the same issue with my drivers door switches. As I've got the volvo extended warranty I'll just let them deal with it

They are not bulbs but LED lights .. should last forever ... did you know the interior light doesn't work in daylight in some of the models ? maybe the switch illumination is connected to that circuit? Do they work in the dark?
