Can you reproduce the effect by having someone bounce on the back of the car with the vehicle not moving?

If so a video camera might be helpful in seeing what is happening.

(Still like to know about poly bushes!)
I am away For the weekend and will try and reproduce and film the problem next week.
As for the bushes I need to check, I have some rubber and some poly if I remember correctly

I thought so too but as I follow several people's builds / threads I wasn't sure - all these builds (plus my own) get blurred in my noggin...

...have a great weekend - here we're encouraged to stay at home at the moment. Enjoy the "freedom" (!)

If the springs are bottoming out on bumps are you sure that you have the correct springs? Front and rear are not the same.Front, VP autoparts. 87935. Rear 87936.

Army, all bushes are poly.

Great weekend in Acapulco. I know that I shouldn’t brag with you guys, but for us is only a 4 hr drive

Thank you Arcturus,
The springs are the correct ones and installed in the right position.
I was considering Derek’s great idea of putting weight under the back seat, and though about a couple of lead weights, which really I don’t know yet if I can get them somewhere

A 4 hour drive in this country and I could very well find myself in another country!

"They" say the idea behind poly bushes is to provide a more sporty feel. I personally think my sporty days are long gone so I've chosen rubber. Perhaps rubber bushes on the back will help?

If you don't fancy doing the trailing arms just yet rubber bushes on the Panhard rod might give a bit more give - a bit more sloppiness is what you probably need for comfort...

I previously said welcome to 1962. I should really have said welcome to 1947! The front suspension is about as old fashioned as you can get for independent. Movement is very limited as you see by the ultra short shocks. Shock selection might be something to look at. Not much choice. Koni did them and they were I think adjustable. Most of the Koni's are or were.
Rob at Amazon cars here in the UK could possibly advise. They rally one but it might have been modded to twin shocks. They have customers with road PVs.

The GAZ shocks I stock are adjustable but I doubt they will help much.

Have you measured the ride height to make sure it is correct?

Take the weight off the rear springs and measure the length. I will do similar and compare.
