Default timing details for a 1970 145 fitted with petronix ignition

Hi, wondered if anybody could help with my 1970 145. Its been running rough lately (intermittent loss of power/chugging... there were two strains of thought fuel or ignition. ordered new dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs also fitted new fuel pump (pier burg, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter. The car runs ok for sometimes an hour then starts chugging/stalling, culminating in a breakdown on motorway. Its fitted with a petronix electronic ignition. My mechanic is coming over tomorrow to set it up and wondered if anyone could give any tips etc.

many thanks

What engine is it? Have you got the Service Manual? You can get online copies from https://ozvolvo.org/archive/

21 to 23deg btdc at 1500rpm with vac hose disconnected. Just check the service manual but pretty sure that is what it says.

thank you for getting back to me, would this be the same for electronic ignition? I believe it to be the B20a engine fitted with unleaded head.
regards

Thanks... apparently my mechanic informs me he believes the cap was put on 180 degrees out as there was no locating lug on cap... he entrusted to his junior etc... he believes it’s just the cap the wrong way round and not a timing issue... I’m not convinced of that as I’m sure it wouldn’t run at all or backfire/stall badly

The timing info from the service manual.

Yes thank you, I’ve passed the details onto him. Hopefully it will be remedied... if it’s not ignition, then it could be fuel... might have to drop the tank and clean it out together with fuel lines

Single Stromberg? Which model? Have you replaced the diaphragm?
