That's a great price.

In my experience the Sealey site always quotes the relatively high MRRP. There are many suppliers who sell at much less. Google the Sealey part no and you should find the same tool at lower prices.

Yes - my mistake - it is VSE4786 not VSE4787 - too many fingers and thumbs on the keyboard!

Now there's a thing. I just looked up my invoice and see that I was sent VSE4784. The difference between 4784 and 4786 is difficult to see on the photos. All I can say is that the one I bought did the job! Got it from ACE Parts in Sittingbourne.

Was thinking of looking into mine as they probably due now on 140K never been done, got a warning from a health check at volvo but then again they couldn't even put the correct tyre/wheel size on the report or even make of tyres on same axel!!!
Took my old T5 to a main dealer a few years ago - they did a "health check" and gave my a priced list of works they said needed doing. The total was more than the value of the car! When I book in to main dealers now I make a point of asking them NOT to do a health check - the results are definitely not good for my own health!

Mine have just come up as a notification on my 130,000 mile 2011 V70 P3, so similar mileages to others. Thanks for your thread - it's helping me make up my mind about doing it myself or not!

The MOT also states wear in the "rear anti-roll bar ball joint" on both sides. Any idea which joint that means? I have already replaced the drop links (for this latest MOT)

I was thinking of fitting polybushes all-round, partly for preventative maintenance but also to help tighten control etc.

The prices for fitted seem to be alittle high though..

It's not 100 each axle from experience on a Subaru/other marques.

I'd say there is only one anti roll bar ball joint, and its on one end of the drop link bar. The other end ( on my 2015MY D5) is a bolt through a rubber bung, (Pic attached. ) and into the antiroll bar.

Someone else may have a different take, but that's mine.

What make did you fit?? that said even chocolate drop links should last more than weeks...

Cheers
Bob

I concur with Bob. If these are the rear drop links you recently replaced have you checked the nuts are tight? Important to hold the balls from rotating when tightening - there should be a hex recess in the end of the ball fitting.

I have never fitted poly bushes, but some say they give a harsher ride. I prefer the compliance of OEM parts - and they should last long enough if OEM quality. Personal preference I suppose.

My experience is they do give a harsher ride and because they to not cushion shock, they wear out quicker than rubber. Also the design of poly bushes is much more critical than rubber ones and if committed to fitting them you need to find a very good design. Of course they are not OEM and so have not had the hundreds of millions of development cash thrown at them. I was disappointed and went back to OEM. It's OK for track cars with low mileage, smooth surfaces and no expectation of comfort.
