Well what a huge change, she drives much more like a new car and goes a bit better as well. She just is so much more assured and comfortable to drive.

Positive outcomes are always nice. I gather the camshaft change resulted in the improvements you were looking for?

How well the car now drives and handles is the biggest change, a very big improvement. It certainly has better acceleration, it isn’t earth shattering by any means but noticeable and a good positive change. Because how well it drives now it feels like it could have a load more Hp. 😀

Going back to 2013 we had a very similar start to the year with snow in April (as well as before) and then a really nice summer. Fingers crossed so we can all get on with our various projects!

Nice to see you have your 142 back now and it's doing everything you hoped for!

Hoping to get the new wheels changed over today. Had a look what the centre caps look like with the wheels. I just worry the wheels are a bit flashy.

Work done by the mechanic:
Unleaded cylinder head conversion / hardened exhaust seats
Remove engine, gearbox and crossmember and clean
Remove and replace lightened flywheel including clutch kit and spigot bearing
Remove and replace camshaft, timing gears, cam axle plate and lifters
Remove and replace rear plug, timing gear and rear crank felt seals
Remove and replace rear exhaust rubbers
Remove and replace front crossmember and upper and lower wishbones
Remove and replace suspension springs
Remove and replace windscreen wipers and blades
Remove and replace front and rear brake hoses
Remove and replace steering idler arm bush
Remove and replace propshaft grease nipples
Replace brake fluid
Suspension geometry adjustment

Snow in April seems to be a 'thing'. Woke up to this, this morning. Unlike Aberdeen, it appears that this is not going to disappear in a couple of hours so the 142 is going to be tucked away for a while. The ground temperature was well above freezing so the snow melted on first contact gradually forming an ice base as the snow accumulated. Lots of reports of SUV drivers re discovering that AWD does not stop any faster than RWD on ice.

It appears that I was premature in cleaning off the chairs for a beer on the patio.

I think the wheels will look really nice as the car is nicely understated in that colour. Were they an original wheel for the car ? Sorry for the ignorance but I'm not very familiar with the 142 model

Thanks, the wheels were an optional GT extra.
