Default Rear brake caliper

Hi all I’ve got a sticking hand brake on the rear off side of my c30 d5 57 plate, I’ve looked at new calipers was seeing are they a standard size across the c30 range. Thanks a lot

Are you sure the caliper is at fault. Often on these cars the handbrake cable corrodes within the cable sheath causing it to fail. Have you checked the condition of the rear handbrake cables within the sheaths?

I can recommend A&A core for caliper refurbishment, really good price for rebuilt calipers and will powder coat them in the colour of choice for free.

I can also say that after one sticking caliper it is not uncommon for another to fail very soon after.

Cheers both for the replies the n/s was replaced just before I bought it 15 months ago, I only noticed yesterday it was dragging when first used from cold for a couple of miles the wife never noticed.

And the wheel is really black with brake dust compared to the others, I’m going to have a look tomorrow so may be able to free it up but was preparing for the worse and replace it but will let you know cheers again.

I've used Bigg Red for caliper refurb on my Nissan Elgrand and would recommend them for refurb work.

Thank you again for the reply I’ve been messing with it today the handbrake is all good so I think the caliper piston is sticking but it has warped the disc massively as well.
So going to need discs, pads and a caliper, my brother works for a parts company so he’s going to sort them out and I’ll fit them this week cheers again and will update once they are changed.

280mm is the rear caliper size. Also used BiggRedd, cheapest way to fix it though is to go buy a used one off eBay, clean it up a bit and refit - it will probably work. You can get them for about £15 each.

Out of interest how much did it cost you to replace disk and pads? Looking to sort out mine soon. Cheers
