Default New Volvo owner....VOC question.

Hello everyone.

Got myself a V90 today R-Design on an 18 plate.

It doesn't have Car play, and I have. a few questions if anyone can help.

Firstly, do I need a sim in the car for Volvo On Call to work?

Is there anyway I can connect my phone to the car so my phones data is used for connectivity and the hotspot?

Does the remote start function only work if you have VOC?

Obviously the main reason to use the remote start is on a cold morning, if I want the heated windscreen wheel and seats to come on do I have to leave the car the night before with everything switched on for those functions to activate.

A lot of questions I know, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

No you do not need a SIM card or any other wifi connection for Voc to work,
Yes, you can connect your phone and use your phone data, and use the car hotspot function to allow others to use the wifi data. Phone will connect via wireless bluetooth or usb cable.
And yes remote start needs VOC to work.

There are settings in Sensus to set the steering/seat heaters etc to come on automatically on engine start, (they only come on if temperature is below the 10°c and front/rear screens at 7°c . They will work manually above those settings.

In the climate settings, select what you want to automatically start, either when you start the car or do a remote start. Bear in mind though these are temperature dependant, so above a certain temperature a lot of the functions won't auto start.

During the last cold spell I found the heated windscreen wouldn't come on at 2°C
when the snowflake symbol was showing and the screen was clear, but did activate if there was a covering of frost or snow. Leads me to believe there is a sensor which detects if the screen is frosted up or not.
