I came to Volvo because my Peogeot 405D had died and I needed a better replacement. TDI engines were just starting out and Audi A6 Avant fitted the bill. When I wanted to test drive a demonstrator someone ran off to France for the week end with it. I threw my toys from the pram and bought a V70tdi in a'95. Then a V70 T5 in 2003 then a 2004 AWD R in 2008 which I still have and a 2014 V70 D5.
All are manual.
There is no current model I'd replace either my current cars for.
I try to do all my own repairs ( not always able to ) but am still able to do all services - save cam belts...
I'm a 66 year old cynical dinosaur..

Hi folks,

I'm 40, this time last year a had a 440 1.6 dark blue, '94 M reg. I sold it and immediately regretted selling.

This year I have a 740 2.0GL saloon in metallic mid blue with blue interior. I'm not letting go of this one any time soon.

Hi, 51yo here - have three at the moment:
2006 C70 T5 SE Lux - working out a few issues with this one now, think it could be a keeper.
2016 XC60 D5 R-Design - not strictly mine, this is Mrs Simians. I'm not a fan (of the car, obviously).
2004 V70 2.4 SE - the comfiest of the lot and my favourite. Currently SORN as I work from home and don't need one car, let alone two.

Have had a 2004 C70 and a 2003 XC90 in the past. Both excellent.

I'm 51 and have a Series 1 C70 which I bought for a grand 4 year ago. It's sat on the drive throughout lockdown and has now had full brakes and new tyres fitted. Tomorrow it goes in for its MOT and hopefully I'll be back on the road
