When's XC90 Mk2 Coming ? ? ?

Has anyone an idea of how long the present XC90 has left before the mk2 will be launched to replace it ? ? ?

I was told by the dealer that as far as they had been told, there were no such plans. The 9 year old model had no replacement in the pipeline and this could affect their value in 3 years. It could also be a reason for such large discounts available on the XC90 at the moment...they need to clear the stock. I went for the XC60 on their advice. It has a more powerful D5 engine, a similar 4 wheel drive system, a slightly higher ground clearance, lighter, faster and more agile. I hope the decision is correct...towing the boat up and down a beach with mixed hard/soft sand and shingle will answer that...The XC 90 did it perfectly and indeed better than a disco that I had before. Fingers crossed for this one.

I read somewhere on this forum recently that it was 2012/13, I think

Second generation: The updated XC90 that was scheduled for 2010 introduction, has been canceled. Instead, the current model will undergo a facelift that will keep it on the market until 2012. Volvo has stated that the second generation XC90 is not canceled altogether, as rumored, but its introduction could be delayed. The next generation was sent back to the engineering board to improve the vehicles weight, handling, and most important of all, its fuel efficiency. Volvo engineers will improve on engine fuel efficiency through the use of hybrid technology and other innovations such as start-stop technology. The 2012 XC90 will borrow heavily from the design of the current XC60. The vehicle will feature a larger third row seat. Also, it can be expected that the vehicle will have an optional panoramic sunroof.
