Default 740 fuel pump

ive been having problems with my 740 starting for a long time now and it seams to be the same thing that is going wrong.the fuel pump has packed up again.cranking over but no fuel getting through to the engine.it will be three times now that its gone .so im thinking is it the intank fuel pump the problem .ive taken it from the car to check and its dead as a dodo.eny info is more than welcome.thanks

There is a good description of how to replace the in-tank fuel pump here but if you’ve already removed yours that’s the worst part done.

It is best not to try to bench test them. They are not designed to run without being submerged in fuel.

When buying a replacement be sure to get the low powered lift pump rather than the later high powered single in-tank pump unless you propose to convert to a single pump setup.

thanks for the reply i just put it on facbook for sale as i need to sell now .i just dont have the time now after trying to start here for three years.thank you
