Just to clarify I'm 12 years old and I jump straight in and redline it everywhere from cold and I always bounce it off the limiter as I turn off the ignition !!!! Come on lads what do you take me for?

I hope I didn't cause any offence or anything, I wasn't implying you're a boy racer who rags it everywhere.

As you know with my car, I've replaced pretty much everything except the engine, gearbox and clutch lol.

Sometimes we just get duds

If you sort it yourself could you put some pics up with a possible guide as it would be interesting to see what's involved in sorting it - Also, I'll put money on mine going at some point with my luck, so it'll be good to know.

No offence taken Alex as previously stated I think the previous owner had been abusing it.

I will try my best to do a guide but as you know I'm a bit shabby with photos on here.

I've got some other jobs around the house and garden to do first so will hopefully get it in the garage and make a start on it in the next week or so fingers crossed it's just the gasket

Bit of a thread revival I've finally got round to taking it apart and from what I can see the headgasket has been blown for well probably since I bought it but it had finally givin in back in March, luckily I think I've got away with it just being the headgasket all the liners seem to be ok

The head has been stripped and sent off to be skimmed once it's back I will treat it to a bit of tlc new valve stem oil seals I'll recut all the valve seats fit some 1.8 n/a cams put it back together and hopefully all will be good for a while

Defo swop the cams out might aswell if your taking the head off, along with new cam and aux belt, do it once properly!
