Default xc90 dashboard air vent louvres

Whilst using a mobile phone holder that clips to the central air vent I have managed to damage the louvres. There is a small bar that aligns the horizontal louvres, this has been knocked off and down in to the air duct. Anybody got any good ideas how to fix this.

I see two options:

1. Dismantle dash, take apart air ductingto retrieve the small bar. Refit bar.

2. Replace damaged air vent with a brand new one, leave bar inside air ducting

#1 is a zero cost, considerable effort option

#2 is a almost zero effort but small cost option

You choose.

And don't use that airvent phone holder again....

The central air vent assembly is simply clipped in place and can be removed using a SOFT & WIDE FLAT tool, it pops out and just disconnect the connector from the hazard light switch.
