V50 General : - V50 1,6D Whinning noise

Hi

I have been struggling with engine cuts outs and limp mode issues for a while on my V50 1,6D from 2007.
Finally found out it was the diesel/fuel filter which needed replacing.

Now I have been driving for 5 days without any issues, but today the car started making loud whining noises when revving the engine and during acceleration.

It sound like the noise is coming from the diesel filter when I check the engine bay.

Does anybody have an idea of what could be causing this?

Alternator bearings ? Or AC Compressor ? does the noise go if you turn off the AC ?

Thanks for the reply.

It does not go away when turning of the AC, I don't know about the alternator bearing.

I was out driving since my last post and it has only gotten worse.

I have shot a video of the problem, maybe it will be useful.

That's very useful , It is a ball bearing on it's last legs , cam belt , aux. belt , alternator ??? best get it towed to your garage and let them sort it , , I wouldn't drive it like that it could seize ( whatever it is ) at any time .
