All speakers blown??
I recently purchased a 2006 V70 which had an aftermarket radio installed, with the radio head wired directly to the dashboard speaker.
I've removed it and am struggling to get my new head unit working through the underseat amplifier. Basically no sound out of the speakers ( I'm not using the dash speaker) I've removed the amplifer and tested it and checked the cable between the amp and the head unit for continuity My very last check was to see if there was continuity across the speaker cables via the connector in the centre console. All 4 speaker wire pairs appear to be open circuit, resistance test with a multimeter and I also tried a 1.5v battery across each one in turn. I assume the cables go directly to the speakers at this point... are they fused anyware or is there another active device between the amplifier and the speakers? Any help with this would be gratefully received... next job will be to remove door panels and test for continuity...... |

Just to update if anyone is interested, I've taken the door panels off and yes, all the speakers are blown.. Personally I would never have believed this, except perhaps if they had failed one by one over time!

Rob, while your story is interesting and speaker failure might apply to P3 Volvos as much as P2 cars, this forum is for the later model which dates from the year following yours, so people on this forum might not have experience of your particular problem. There is a P2 forum for cars up to 2006 where others may have similar experiences to yours.
