please help im looking to buy some 17s for my volvo 440 2.0i GS N reg, the alloys i want are 4 stud but says they are off a ford. it gives this info would they fit my car??

Aspect Ratio: 40
Rim Width: --
Tyre Width: 195
Rim Diameter: 17 inches
Offset: --
Number of Studs: 4

ford wont fit rover vw etc have got a set of bk 604 im getting rid of got 6 alloys 2 good tyres one so so and one with no tyre oh and there multi stud looking for a ton ish

rochford tyres say the offset can be 35-45?

dont no much about the technical terms just years of working on cars ford and peogeot the same volvo the same as vaxhaul rover vw and some japo cars and even renault (4 stud of course apart from rover 600 / 800) its the distance between the holes

Biggest thing you need to worry about is the PCD (PITCH CIRCLE DIAMETER) which is the stud pattern, in your case 4 X 100 which is 4 studs spaced at 100mm. The offset you want is something like 38-45 then there is centre bore which I don't know off hand. offset and centre bore can usually be altered with spacers and spigots! I am betting a penny to a pound you will get a fair bit of rubbing on 17's especially if the tyres are 205+

lowered40mm no rubbing at back slight rub on full full lock mine on 205 40 17s

No.

The wheels have to have 4 studs spaced at 100mm. The offset has to be correct or less than correct so it can be corrected with spacer. The centre bore has to be correct or too large so it can be corrected with spigots (?)

As the_hoff has confirmed you are in for rubbing!
