Not thought about trying it in the Volvo yet (wife’s only had it four days) but in my Land Rover I have a quadlock mount attached to a bracket that I fabricated which bolts in using one of the seat bolts. I was adamant I wasn’t going to put holes in the dash. I’m sure something similar could be made to work. If having a quadlock case doesn’t suit you then RAM mounts are well reviewed as well and would be equally suitable. Similarly, if you wanted something more in the eyeline then perhaps a different existing bolt might be usable.

Default We Love Tetrax

We have Tetrax magnetic holders in our cars, specifically the 'FixWay'. It works really well and we have them stuck next to the waterfall.

The only downside is that you need to have a mount on your phone case. Whenever I swap phones/cases I have to remove the mount and attach it to the new case with new super-strong double sided foam tape. (tip: always use alcohol wipes/spray on any surfaces before doing that sort of stuff)

We run the USB cable jammed into the back of the edge of the waterfall and then have a USB transmitter for sending the music to the radio (we don't have AUX or Bluetooth).

I use one that goes into the air vent and it works perfectly. I only have a Google Pixel 4a, so quite a small phone. But I have no issues with it.

Exactly this one - https://kikkerlandeu.com/products/ai...older-for-cars

In fact I tried to remove it to sell the car and I'd have destroyed the soft vinyl dash so I left it on so make sure you stick it to plastic.
I had this problem on my used 2012 V50. The disc was stuck to the soft vinyl rock solid. To remove it just take 30 mins gently blowing it with a hair dryer (not a heat gun) and keep lifting one edge gently until it comes away. A heat gun will melt your dash if not used with extreme care. The adhesive on the disc needs to be slowly softened not instantly heated or it will not work.

Which is why I use Brodit mounts, self adhesive pads or worse (superglue) are a pain in the neck.

I've done a reshuffle with new Brodit mounts as the waterfall mount got in the way of the passengers leg. This is what my setup looks like now (see attachments).

The wiring is all behind the climate panel behind the waterfall. The Alpine EZI-DAB BT provides phone, bluetooth and DAB radio via the AUX-IN although it can do FM transmit. The phone mount is a Mous magnetic/wireless charging mount.

It's taken years but I'm now totally content with the setup as it's simple and convenient. I had to buy the LHD and RHD vent mounts to get one either side and leave the hazard switch and vent controls unobstructed.
