Torquing control arm rear bolts
How in Odins name has anyone managed it with the wheels on the ground (without access to ramps or a lift)?
Am I missing a trick? Any tips? |

Do you mean the big bush at the rear of the strut rods that have the spaceship bushes at the front and the big bush at the back mounted to a bracket on the chassis?
Put a few blocks under the front wheels to give you some height, if you don't have blocks then turn the wheels full lock one way and squeeze yourself in. Use a spanner to lock itself against the underside somewhere and torque them up. Or do you mean the track control arm bush on the subframe? Again I believe I did the wheels on full lock to do the last set of rubber bushes. If you have used superflex polybushes then the wheels don't need to be on the ground. Edit: thinking about it I believe I had the front wheels on full lock and on a few blocks to get me enough room to squeeze under the car. Last edited by 360beast; Dec 6th, 2021 at 06:52. |

That’s the badger.
I might need to get a longer extension bar for my torque wrench, just can’t get the clearance to get a turn on it. I’ve hit it with the ugga dugga for now. |

Mount one wheel up the kerb and crawl under it on the road- not ideal but it is close enough
