Finally I got my Osram Diadem Chrome indicators, which nicely tidy up the light clusters.

Unfortunately the headlamp can't be de-oranged. I've always preferred the de-oranged look on darker cars.

I've also changed the sidelight and auxiliary main-beam headlamp bulbs for Philips Bluevision Ultras. They're not dark-tinted blue, but just mildly so that the aux main-beam no longer gives the "dirty" look at the edges of the xenon light output - the bluevisions match quite well to the factory Xenons.

Nice looking mod. I'm also not a great fan of orange looking lamps. In my s80 i used silvertec on rear lenses - cheap and cheerful. As for the mirror indicators i had to use a drill and oversize a hole a bit. Fitted 5smd leds and works a treat. They don't have to be canbus as there is no change to blinking intervals.

If I may ask, how did you find removing the wing mirror cover. I had a mirror to mirror contact on my car a couple of months ago and the indicator unit shattered and needed replacing. I found the trim extremely hard to remove and broke a clip trying to get it off.

(30-70 their fault! Parked cars on both sides but I didn't have to cross the white line to pass mine, although I was very close to it. They didn't stop and drove off. On reflection, taking a 'commanding' road position wasn't really worth the hassle and I should have just backed off)

You don't have to remove the trim.

I found, by searching this very forum, that the trick is to move the mirror so it is turned as inward to the car as possible, then you can slip your fingers behind the glass and pop it off. Then you can fiddle the bulb out.

I only take " commanding" road positions in my Pajero. Although in the last two weeks it's drivers mirror was flicked back by an oncoming Transit on a near single lane road, and I flicked it forward on a gate post whilst reversing up a welsh track. It's servo retract and extend still works as does its heater. Tough as old leather at 19 years young!
