Default V90 my18 rear parking sensor failed

Reversing slowly into car parking space and got no beeps. Nothing on screen. Only realised as I was right against car in space behind. No damage thankfully. Has anyone seen this?

Stopped and restarted car and sensors worked fine.

May be worth contacting your dealer as there is recent update for parking sensors, although I thought that was for MY19

Not had it happen on my mk 2 xc90 but I reversed into my Landrover Defender bull bars in my last mk 1 xc90 once, when reverse sensor did not beep, quess which came off worse. It was the one and only time that happened. Just proves the point that these are driving aids and we should not count on them 100%. Luckily I was only going slow so only a small dent in my bumper where the foam under the plastic bumper molded to the shape of the bull bar.

Yes, happened to my MY18 S90. So nearly hit the concrete walls...

When I had the car in the dealer last week to address the sat nav issue, they updated the car's software and I noticed an improvement to the sensitivity of the sensors. Definitely should book your car in for them to have a look...

Thanks all

Fortunately there was no lasting damage for my V90 or the poor car I reversed into. Just a wipe of the bumper and looks fine
