What I do not have is when I use the drive mode selector, there is no profile with my name, only the 4 standard options.

I am giving the stop/start a go. What I really do not like is when you are doing a tight maneuver, forward and reverse, every time you go forward and stop the engine cuts out.
I'm also missing individual driving mode since profiles were added. The only sensible explanation was that it starts in individual driving mode now. Clearly sensible is not for Sensus.

Drive Mode and Profiles are totally separate things but there is one area of overlap.

Drive Mode is concerned only with how the car drives (accelerator, brakes, steering, etc). Profiles, on the other hand, hold information such as the climate settings you like, your preferred radio station, seat position, etc; in total there are about 25 parameters that can be stored in a Profile and one of them is the Drive Mode. Note, however, that the Individual Drive Mode cannot be stored in a profile. Also, I don't know what happens if you store Dynamic Mode in your Profile as that would seemingly allow you to have Start/Stop permanently disabled (which seems unlikely). I haven't played with Profiles much as I've been waiting 'till the new car arrives.

Here is a list of all the parameters that can be stored in a Profile: http://support.volvocars.com/uk/cars...a80151108c5af5

(Btw, there are 5 Drive Modes in total.)

Weird, it's not supposed to and mine certainly doesn't. If you change it to, say, Comfort Mode then try to change it again, is Individual Mode showing as available? If not, there's defo something wrong.

To Deman77 and neon:

Have you actually activated/set up Individual Drive Mode? If not, it won't appear as an available Drive Mode so you'll only see 4 Drive options.

Iirc, there's a box somewhere in one of the menus that has to be ticked to activate Individual Drive Mode.

Ok will have a look. I think I may have had it at one point as guest. I am wondering if when I set up the driver profile it was unchecked by default in the new profile.

OK got it now.
System/My Car/Individual drive mode
Tick the box at the top and it will then show when using the drive mode roller.

Can someone explain what all the Drive Modes are and what they do / differ from one another in layman's terms?

I'd guess the text in bold explains why the car always starts in Comfort mode.
The bold bit confirms what I guessed earlier. However mine definitely remembers the firm steering setting as the wife has it set to light. If I use her key its light, if I use my key its firm.

The bold bit is a quote from a manual - not a verified car bahaviour. There are many instances of Sensus behaviours not quite as manual describes them. I am more inclined to rely on your experience which indicates that the car starts in individual mode.

Hmmm. lexman indicates that individual does not show because of an unticked box . Perhaps the manual is right this time. Having different suspension setting should prove it as you can hear air compressor when ride height changes.
