Default Driver Profiles

Anyone seen any better instructions than in the manual for setting up driver profiles. Not sure if I am just being thick but I find them pretty poor.

Am I right in assuming, if I am in a profile and change something that the profile needs to be unlocked and it will automatically remember it and then I lock it again.

Tricky one.
If locked and changes are made, then you need to save the changes.
If unlocked, then any changes are automatically saved.
My understanding and I could be wrong.

I was trying to switch off the start/stop function so I did not have to keep remembering to swipe the screen and switch it off every time I get in the car.

That is interesting, I did not think that you could disable it.
Please let use know if you manage to do it, as it will be the first thing I will do when I get my car.

There has been quite a discussion about it on swedeSpeed. GrecianVolvo, who is officially Volvo says you can by setting up a profile in driver profiles. Other forum members say you cannot. That was why I was trying to understand the logic process of how they work.

I wonder if it varies by region? I know that there is no way of permanently disabling on a BMW either.

I think that you will need to ask on Swedespeed, how you go about doing this. I did not think it was possible.
Please update with the outcome.

I could not disable it on the Mercedes, but it was a visible easy push of a button to turn it off. As far as I am aware it is not a legal requirement so it should be an option to not have it default to on, would be my thinking.

Previous Volvo's have a button, but with the new Sensus, swiping the screen to turn it off, is going to be a pain.

Last month, when I went to look at the S90, the dealer gave me a run through of the Sensus, on a XC90 T8.
He could not find the Start/Stop function.
Does the T8 have this?
He did point out that the T8 had not been through its PDI and maybe it is added at this stage.
