Roy,

Don't worry, I know what you meant and it seems you know what I meant now.......I think!

The Volvo is a 90G. I didn't actually see the Merc but seller told me it was a 3.0L and a bit younger so it was an E-class and probably a W210 or W211 and thus a 6-cyl.

By "TD" I meant the generic abbreviation for turbo diesel (for both the Volvo and Merc) as opposed to a W124 T-series estate with a diesel engine. I deliberately did 't write "turbo diesel" as I didn't know if it was a "TURBODIESEL" or a "CDI". It's ironic that both Volvo and Mercedes used the "TURBODIESEL" badge at a similar time.

I had a 79 Mercedes w123 300td. The engines was a normally aspirated straight five. The 't' stood for touring or tourer as per Mercedes designation of the time, it meant the car was an estate. The petrol estates were badged te, the e designating fuel injection. I loved the 123 mercs, incredible build quality.

It's the same car. Giveaway is the extra mirror nailed to the driver's mirror.

Same tit who was flogging it before based on the random crap pictures.

He says the crack in the windscreen isn't an MOT failure but he's talking out of his ass again. It's in the zone B swept area and longer than 40mm = fail.

Yes, it is indeed this same one yet again. Look at:

i) "tax disc" holder
ii) damaged front bumper corner,RH side
iii) dirty footwell carpet, driver's
iv) secondary door mirror, driver's

Will's right, this is the same car once again! Cracked windscreen and new alternator are further giveaways.

Text in Gumtree listing and some photos are identical to a previous Car & Classic listing back in July (not the one immediately above)
