Default Boost gauge position?

I would like to know where people have mounted their after market boost gauges in their 850s, I used to have mine mounted on the A pillar, that looked ok but fancied a change, Ive seen them in the radio hole in a DIN adapter too but cant use that area as I have it filled with a big system, has anyone mounted a stand alone pod on top of the dash? If so, any pics?
Or has anyone else got any creative ideas, I was going to mount it in a plate and screw that to the top of the dash but think this will look a bit naff, so all ideas welcomed

In the ash tray so it can be hidden when you're not refering to it? Where I'm looking to fit mine. I hate things looking aftermarket.

I like that one Russell, what did you do, snap all the fins out until it fitted, also are the wires routed through the ducting?

Yes just cut the fins to make a round hole, when you pull the vent out theres a screw undo this and you can push the plastic tunel thing back enough to pipe the wires down below the steering wheel.
Its pritty easy to do.

I have seen these quite a lot, normally 3 in a row that fit in the same size hole as the stereo

Wink Boost gauge

Mines fitted on a stand alone pod next to the a pillar, vecro sticky pad'd to the dash so the car can be returned to standard if required.

Default boost gauge

I have fitted a boost, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge in that space below the head unit with a 3 in a row holder. Just a shame its not a t5 only a v70 tdi.
