So I am going from a 2003 D5 XC90 with 195,000 miles on the clock to a 2017 T8 R Design in Bursting blue with air, 22s, and loads of other options.

They are both big cars with 7 seats - will there really be that much difference between them?

What if anything willi notice. Thoughts welcome.

Can't wait

This almost seems like a joke/dishonest post..... Of course you will notice a difference. Literally everything will be improved. Especially acceleration, ride-comfort, user interface, materials, and fuel efficiency. 14 years is a long time, especially in the car industry.

The fact that you even asked this question makes me think you should consider saving your money and buying a less expensive/enthusiast-oriented vehicle.

Sorry it was a tongue-in-cheek post (not meant to be dishonest), the order is real as is the old car (which I am still driving but is falling apart) - I was just trying to elicit any comparisons. I have had a very short test drive in the diesel momentum but not the T8 or T6 or R-Design.

Biggest change for me from old xc90 was the turning circle, was crap in old car, parking it was always a 3 point turn..... New one is easy, given its size, too easy

I agree - manoevering in my current XC90 is very barge-like.
Good to hear the new XC90 is better - thanks.

Oh, my. Well, I'll try.

You'll notice an interior that is light years ahead, from middle-of-the-pack "nice car" design from the late 90s to front-of-the-pack award-winning interior. And the seats are in fact the best many have ever encountered.

You'll notice more space, and more light. Especially more light. It's very airy.

You'll notice it "drives small". Indeed, it feels much smaller than it is.

You'll notice the attention to design is one of a stark, simple approach. It's more a classy that grows over time than a "look what I can do" approach.

You'll notice very smooth operation, and blistering speed when you cane it.

You'll notice it's difficult to park, and it takes up a lot of space. And I'm in the states...

It's essentially a different class of vehicle.
