Volvo 740 estate headlining
Another niggle with my 1987 740 estate, the headlining has been torn in places by the previous owners kids. Is there any way of removing these, so i can either replace it with one from a scrap car, or repair it?
cheers Tim

RE: Volvo 740 estate headlining
Removing the headlining is easy, certainly when you have an estate. Bascially what you need to do is the following:
Remove the plastic trim along the edge of the headlining, starting with the bits over the doors and then over the tailgate opening. Be very gentle as the plastic will brake easily. Then, remove the sealing around the sunroof, remove the two plastic clips behind the sunroof, remove the interior light, the mirror and the sunroof handle or motor cover, sunvisors and clips. Finally, remove the plastic strip along the top of the windshield. If this has been glued in place when replacing windshield, it will brake no question. Then, gently bring the headlining down and pull forward, now, it will come tumbling down on you and you have to remove it out through the tailgate making sure you do not crack it. As easy as it is to remove the headlining, as difficult it is to find a decent one at a scrapper. Good luck. If you need more detailed instructions, I am about to upload my new website with information about this.
