Removing rear door trim on a V40
Hey Guys.
I have an issue with my central locking. I think the right hand side rear lock needs lubricating - when I lock / unlock it doen't seem to want to unlock for me, although you can see it trying to. Anyone know how to get the trim off without breaking it? BTW It has rear leccy windows. Thanks in advance. Stu |

stu
right hear goes... 1, disconnect the battery negative terminal 2,carefully unclip the inner trim panel from the rear of the window (the triangle one) 3,remove teh screw from behing the door opener and remove the handle surround. 4,remove the screw from beneath the little cover in the door shut hole ( you know the one) and remove the pocket and disconnect the wiring. 5, remove the screw from the trim on the trailing edge of the door. 6, carefully unclip the base of the door trim from the door and lift the panel upwards and away from the door, if necessary unclip the wiring harness from the door panel and disconnect any relevant wiring connectors as soon as they become accessible. there you go outta the manual, let me know how easy/hard it was as mine has started to stick now but only when really cold. Hmmmmm wonder what the little darlings have managed to pour into the door now x( x( cheers scott ps if you need the pages emailing let me know |

Thanks Scott,
As it's damn cold and wet here at the moment it's going to have to wait a couple of weeks - but as soon as I manage to have a go I'll let you know (and I'll have to let you if I needs the pages :)). At least you have an excuse for yours to get a bit sticky - I have no kids to pour anything sticky in the hole :P Stu |
