S40 2.0 litre petrol engine
Does anyone know the availabilty & cost of the tool for removing the oil filter canister (plastic), which is located up inside a recess. It is so close to the engine block that I can't get my hand around the filter housing to unscrew it. Apart from the genuine Volvo tool, is there a "pattern"?
Many thanks. |

europarts do a filter removing tool for this application, part no is 500660110 @ £6-00 inc vat. you can also use the nylon strap type that will not damage the plastic housing. paul |

Thanks for the information. Paul.
I take it that the nylon strap you mentioned is not like the usual strap wrench, which won't fit in the space around the filter. Cheers. |

the nylon strap mentioned operates like a tour-ni-quet and fits into your socket ratchet and should not damage the plastic housing. paul |
