V50 - which one?

Well... I in fact have to older 1.6d model and I wanted to correct you on a couple of matters. My car is the V50 1.6d 2008 model. It does indeed have an aluminium engine block (unlike what you said in one of your posts).

Some of the older type 1.6's dont MY2008 does but the internals are different to the 1.6d Drive unit

Also, you made a comment that "if you want to kill the performance of any car, you add a 6 speed gearbox"..... the V50 1.6drive in fact has a 6 speed gearbox. This was one of the main differences between the old version and the drive edition. Are you sure that your model is the drive version? Or do you also have the 6 speed gearbox?

None of the V50 1.6d Drive have 6 speed gearboxes check out Volvos website if you dont believe me, the reason you get the economy is it has a very very tall 5th gear


Anyway one thing for sure its a better drive than the 2.0d
