Default Inscription Trim (not Pro) Adaptive bending headlights

Hi everyone, after a lot of testing I have finally decided to order a MY19 Inscription trim (not Pro) XC90. I decided to go in that direction as I really do not like the Inscription Pro seats. One thing just dawned on me though, are the adaptive headlights with Shadow technology available on the standard inscription trim? The UK configurator simply doesn't mention it anywhere. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best wishes

Adaptive lights have been Pro pack only since, I believe, MY18, which I think is a massive flaw in the spec strategy for these cars. I was put off the pro pack because of the 22” wheels in RD spec, but would have gladly spec’d then as an individual option. Pro pack didn’t seem to fair well for lease costs when I was shopping either, seemed to be viewed as a collection of options (which it is!) not a trim level, so no RV. D76

I had a loan XC60 Pro model with the adaptive lights for a few days while waiting for something to be sorted on my non Pro. I thought I'd be really disappointed in not having them but they are VERY good with just the auto dimming feature, and very bright.

I believe lower seat extenders are standard on pro.

Yes but I wouldn't think that makes a huge difference to seat comfort? I guess they could be annoying if you don't want them. Haven't got mine yet but assume they can be lowered into a position where they have no/little effect?

The seats on the Pro trim are perforated and ventilated. They also have the thigh extension and massage function. The standard inscription seat are very different. More basic but with less of a wire-frame holding the cushions in place. People do seem to love them but they just don't work for me and I can feel the wire frame under my buttocks too much.

I beg to differ, but my Inscription seats are the same as the Pro except for the massaging function.

You are making me slightly nervous about what I ordered now! Specifically went for the Pro for the massage function. I have test driven one and it seemed fine. Guess it's a very individual thing. Current A8 seats are phenomenal and slightly reluctant to leave them, but the quality of seats in all the Volvo's I've tested seems very high.

I find the XC90 Inscription 2017 to be fairly disappointing as far as seat comfort goes. I actually prefer the comfort of my Honda CRV and Nissan Qashqai. Even my Ford Ranger's seats. Yes, really.

Since seat comfort is subjective and varies from person to person, I will be watching seat comfort more carefully when it comes to changing the Volvo next time. I don't have perforated leather or thigh extenders, but those are not my issue. They lack padding, are too hard as a result, and the sides are also too stiff somehow. Lovely leather though.

Don't get me wrong, I'll happily drive it all day and certainly don't have a complaint as a passenger. It's just not soft and plush enough and does make one feel some pressure points that are not an issue with the others mentioned. Should say that I'm rather a bigger guy than average in most dimensions.
