Default Steering column issues

Today I had to undu the flex steering coupler to thread a new horn wire now it’s all back together the steering shaft is bent, am I missing a truck here ?
I did not use any heavy force just rotated the steering wheel to bring the bolts around
After fully decoupling top and bottom sections the section in the steering box is bent
Any suggestions or tips?

Bent in what way? Has one of the shafts gotten bent and flop around, or have the angles changed on the upper and lower half of the joint?

Had a look in a Haynes manual I have, and it doesn't mention anything that need special attention. It says to remove the bolts on the coupler to disconnect the two parts, and reverse order when installing.

The lower shaft was bent, I have no clue how it happened as all I did was rotate the steering wheel to get at the last bolt on the connector
Anyway I have straightened it with a large Jack handle and brute force it’s now running true, all this for a horn wire
Top tip if you have to mess with this steering joint is Jack the front wheels up so you can easily rotate the column
