MY18 XC90 seats
Hello everyone. I'm a first time poster but long time lurker here. My local dealer is selling a used MY18 XC90 which I am very much considering. I have test driven the vehicle and also rented one for a few days that has the same seats. I wondered if anyone has noticed that on the perforated seats, where the thigh bolster cushion extends there is some sort of metal bar that seems to cut across the buttocks/perineum region. It just feels like it needs some extra padding. It can also be felt without the cushion extended. I wondered if MY18 owners have felt the same thing. For info i am 6ft and 80ish KG's. Having carried out some research on various forums and also speaking to a few people at Volvo it seems that this "problem" is only on MY18 as they had to add a wire-frame to help with leather that was sagging prematurely on earlier model years. I wondered for those of you who have a MY18 wether this is something you find particularly bothersome (or feel it at all). If so have you found any fixes? When I had my rental unit, I had to resort to putting a car seat cushion as it was pretty bad.
I apologise if this has been covered before. Thanks in advance for all your input. Last edited by Twickers83; May 24th, 2018 at 13:54. |

Hi, see my post from yesterday, yes we do find them uncomfortable, as you say the metal bar across the seat sticks in you rear and we cannot find a comfortable position, I find that you adjust it and it feels ok but then after a few miles it goes back to being uncomfortable. A few people that have replied to my post don’t seem to suffer the same and say that there’s are very good. Ours is an xc60 but it is interesting that you say it is only the my18 seats that could be like it as ours is a my18. We are touring Scotland at the moment and finding them quite bad at the moment after doing over a 1000 miles so far.

Just read a couple of posts on swedespeed one - how could volvo get something like this out the door on their flagship product after all the badmouthing they had with noise and quality control early on? This is dreadful.
