P1800 seat covers
Does anyone know of a source of new leather seat covers for a P1800s? Perhaps you have found a trimmer who you could recommend or alternatively is there anyone who can supply the covers 'off the shelf'?
Thanks! |

I believe Brookhouse Volvo in ipswich stock seat covers to the original pattern and a Richard Feltham (lost his contact details) specialises in P1800 interior. Alternativley any good local trimmer - and theres several in every decent sized town - can recover your seats to the original pattern, theres nothing difficult or complicated about the design. Its the vinyl embossed side trim that is hard to replicate.
Unless its black, the biggest problem is matching the leather to the colour of the vinyl trim, as there are lots of shades of red and tan. Thats where getting it done locally may be beneficial. Mike. |

Seat covers
Thanks Mike, I didn't realise Brookhouse offered them. I will check them out and see what the price is like. My local trimmer almost made me faint when he gave me a quote. I have now joined the VOC and the list of suppliers is very helpful.

There are some good suppliers in Sweden as well that do the covers and all the interior, even the Jensen stuff. It doesn't work out any dearer after exchange. You should be able to find them on the internet. I know its sacriledge - to some people - but if cost is a factor I'd use a leatherette cover. The modern fake leathers are hardly distinguishable from the real thing and you don't have all that moisturising of the leather to worry about. i think if I get any more seats done thats what I'll have them covered in.
