I think the tank holds 62 ltrs, 13.65 galls so if you used the whole lot you'd be getting 18.31mpg but you need to do a brim-to-brim test with mileage so you know exactly how much fuel has been consumed.

I pumped my tyres to 36PSi all-round for a fully-laden motorway run 2 weeks ago but forgot (until yesterday) to 'let them down' again to about 32psi but my mpg went up from 25 to 28!! over-inflating is bad news for central tyre-wear but some experimenting might be in order here.

With a brim full tank at a constant 70mph. 500miles looks achievable.

I recently changed my FPS and MAF...

before I was getting 32-33 on the trip computer at 68mph cruise (with some fruity bits in-between)

Now... getting 36-37 at that speed.

Wider tyres (205 to 225) gave the consumption a bit of a hit so depends if you're 17 or 18" ... running 34psi front 30psi back.

brim to brim test as said is the only true way to know. I don't wanna know.. I might just cry if I found out what mileage mine has ACTUALLY been doing!

Are you talking instantaneous or the overall average?

I used to average 26mpg but since the major service 2 months ago it has improved to 28mpg. That should give 350+ miles per tank.

Most of my driving is A roads with some pootling around town.

Why is my diesel tank soooooo small!? I only ever seem to get 45l into it and when it kicked into the emergency limp mode when I ran it really low I only got 48l in it! 68l is the way forward lol
