wimorrison and nicknick thank you!
That's great, at least I know now that it can be done - I will investigate further using the info you gave me. Thanks again |

I never knew there was such a thing available....
http://www.nav.tv/products/opv-1vol?car=205 Be careful though as if it was to somehow affect the operation of the vehicles audio system and Volvo put it down to the installation of one of these adapters it may void your warranty! Some of the modules in the audio system are well over £500 to replace. |

Thanks for the warning Multiplex - things need to be done correctly and I will have my eye on the details as the last thing I want is a big bill from Volvo!
At the price of that options module it might be cheaper to get the rear view camera and rig up a video switch on the feed from that! |

That looks fairly scary! The DVD/SatNav system there seems to be in a rear quarter void in the boot, but not clear about that. I have degrees in electronic engineering and the thought of hacking about my new car's electronics to that extent scares me! Hoping to find a nicer route - need to know which Elliott t PM about that! Thanks folks for all your posts so far! |

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/member.php?u=43764 His real name is Peter and he's based in Redhill, Surrey. Look in the For sale / Wanted for posts from him - he prefers to PM people info on prices, not sure if that's a forum requirement or personal choice so I won't divulge the pricing details he gave me. I do know he was out earlier this week as he promised to get back to me on something later today / tomorrow. If you look on here there is also a post by someone with an Active - might be Lordlichfield - he had Peter install rear DVD screens in his brand new car and posted some pictures etc. |

ITServe - did you check the Imiv website? They have a box (and cables) that does it all (or so they say )
http://www.imiv.ca/cms/index.php?id=...ash=130f423bdc You need to selct the IMIV Classic from the page, for some reason forum will not allow full link Last edited by wimorrison; Jan 14th, 2010 at 09:44. Reason: URL error |

Not sure which car you have (XC90 ?) but I don't believe these will work on an XC90 as it uses fibre optic rather than melbus to communicate between the various components ...
The various options on that site do list which models they work on. Try here http://www.volvotech.nl/index.php/cPath/67_73_101 Last edited by XCF; Jan 14th, 2010 at 13:49. |
